There’s no official link yet, but Surrey RCMP is looking into a possible connection between a sexual assault on Tuesday near Clayton Heights Secondary School and a similar incident a week ago.
The two incidents happened only four blocks apart, leading police to believe they may be connected.
The description of the suspect in both instances is also similar.
Surrey RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann said police have stepped up patrols in the area.
“Investigators from our Special Victims Unit — which are responsible for investigating sex crimes involving children, especially when a predator or stranger is involved — are leading this investigation,” he said.
The suspect in both instances is described as a Caucasian man in his 30’s or 40’s.

“In the second instance the victim wasn’t able to get a good look at the suspect’s face.”
In Tuesday’s incident, a 15-year-old girl was walking on 69th Avenue near 188th Street around 8 a.m. when she was grabbed from behind and groped by a man.
Last Wednesday, an 11-year-old girl had her buttocks grabbed by a man in the area around 188th Street and 65th Avenue.
Both girls managed to get away, and neither was physically harmed. However, responding police were unable to locate a suspect in either instance.
