Samsung pokes fun at BlackBerry business users in new ad

TORONTO – Samsung Mobile USA has released a new ad targeting BlackBerry business users, poking fun at the BlackBerry platform by promoting the Galaxy Note II as the “next big thing in business.”

The video highlights Samsung’s SAFE technology, which provides enhanced security features for business users.

Though Samsung does not mention the BlackBerry by name, the smartphones shown in the video are not disguised and resemble BlackBerry’s design, complete with a physical keyboard.

“You’re not even working you are just watching basketball,” says the other man who appears to be using a BlackBerry smartphone.

The video then shows the Samsung user using the multi-window application to work in a spreadsheet while watching a live sports stream.

“Actually I’m closing deals with clients and watching the game. Modern business my friend,” says the Samsung user.

But this is not the first time Samsung has poked fun at another smartphone maker. In September 2012 Samsung released a video called “The Next Big Thing is Already Here – Samsung Galaxy S III,” which makes fun of Apple fans lining up to buy new phones.
