A Halifax man has been arrested and charged in relation to a downtown assault in broad daylight.
According to Halifax Regional Police, a 36-year-old man was walking in the area of Spring Garden Road and Queen Street at about 1 p.m. on Oct. 2 when he was approached by another man.

The suspect punched the victim repeatedly in the side of the head. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries and was treated in hospital.
Officers arrested a 30-year-old man without incident in the 500 block of Herring Cove Road just before 9 p.m. on Thursday.

The man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and was released from custody.
He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Nov. 21.
