History & Geography: A descendent of the old Vancouver South riding, Vancouver-Fraserview is the most southeast of the city’s 10 ridings. Its western border is Fraser, while its northern border is East 49th, 41st, or 45th Avenue depending on the location. This is a bellweather riding historically, as the party that holds this area has won the last 15 elections.

Candidates
Liberals-Suzanne Anton: A longtime city politician, Anton was a city councillor from 2005 to 2011 and a park board commissioner from 2002 to 2005. She was the NPA’s mayoral candidate in the 2011 election, but lost to incumbent mayor Gregor Robertson. Prior to entering politics, Anton was a lawyer, and has also been a mathematics teacher overseas.
NDP-Gabriel Yiu: A communications expert, Yiu has written and worked for a variety of companies since immigrating to Canada in 1991, including the Vancouver Sun, Ming Pao, Fairchild Canada and the Georgia Straight. He has been paid by the NDP to perform communications outreach to ethnic communities. He ran in the 2009 and 2005 elections, narrowly losing both times.
Conservatives-Rajiv Pandey: A realtor, Pandey was on the real estate board of Greater Vancouver for four years.
Greens-Stuart Mackinnon: A teacher at Killarney Secondary school, Mackinnon was a COPE Park Board Commissioner from 2008 to 2011. He is currently a Governor of the VanDusen Botanical Garden Association, and is an avid dragon boat racer.
