What’s open and what’s closed in Guelph on Thanksgiving Monday

With the Thanksgiving Monday holiday, there will be the usual list of closures across the Royal City, along with service reductions you should know about.

Banks and the postal service have the day off, along with all Guelph Public Library locations and recreation centres.

City facilities and municipal offices, and the Waste Resource Innovation Centre are also shuttered for the day.

Curbside waste collection will not run Monday, and all waste collections will be moved one weekday for the remainder of the week.

Guelph Transit is running on a holiday service schedule.

When it comes to retail locations across the city, most are closed for the holiday.

This includes Stone Road Mall, Old Quebec Street Mall, grocery stores, Beer Stores and LCBO outlets.

There will be some road closures for the annual Thanksgiving Day Races. The races date back to 1894 and a few stretches of roads will be closed around the Exhibition Park area.

London Road, Kathleen Street, Exhibition Street and Division Street will be closed until about 1:15 p.m.

This will affect transit routes. For all detour information, visit Guelph.ca/transit for details.
