Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees: Radiohead, LL Cool J among potential inductees

An impressive list of performers are included on next year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ballot, including: Radiohead, LL Cool J, Rage Against the Machine, Nina Simone and The Moody Blues.

In total, 19 acts are nominated in Thursday’s announcement and nine nominees are featured for the very first time. “The group of nominees is really reflective of the diversity of what we call rock ‘n’ roll,” said Greg Harris, CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, in a statement published by USA Today. “It’s a very wide net and underscores the evolution in the nominating process.”Between five to seven acts are typically chosen as inductees by 900 industry experts. Those lucky few will be chosen and revealed in December, with the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony taking place in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14.

De la Rocha eventually split and the remaining band members formed rock super-group Audioslave with the late, great Chris Cornell.

The full list of 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees is as follows: Depeche Mode, Dire Straits, Eurythmics, J. Geils Band, Judas Priest, Kate Bush, Link Wray, LL Cool J, MC5, Nina Simone, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Zombies, The Cars, The Meters and The Moody Blues.
