Mark Salling will plead guilty to possession of child pornography, agreeing to serve four to seven years in prison, according to a plea deal with prosecutors.
The former “Glee” star was indicted on two counts of child pornography last year after police found more than 50,000 images on a seized laptop.
Entertainment Tonight has confirmed the plea agreement, which says Salling agreed to plead guilty to the second count of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor. He also agreed to serve four to seven years in prison.
The Blast also reported that Salling reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.
Salling was first arrested in Dec. 2015, after police said they found thousands of images of child pornography on his electronic devices. The plea deal comes more than a year after he first pleaded not guilty to two counts receiving and possessing child pornography in June 2016. The trial was originally scheduled for the next month, but was delayed when Salling changed lawyers.
As part of the deal, Salling must also register as a sex offender and participate in psychological counselling and/or a sex offender treatment program.
The ultimate decision on sentencing will be left up to the judge. The prison sentence will be followed by 20 years of supervised release with conditions decided by the court.
TMZ reports that Salling has also agreed to make restitution of $50,000 to each of his victims.
