Cineplex offering free movies across Canada on Community Day

Canadian movie lovers and their families are invited to visit their local Cineplex Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 14 for a free movie.

Enjoy a morning of free films in honour of the seventh consecutive year of Cineplex Community Day.

Cineplex will treat guests to a selection of popular, family-friendly movies, with all proceeds from donations and select concession sales supporting the company’s national charitable partner, WE Charity, part of WE — a family of organizations that makes doing good, doable.

This year’s line-up of free films includes popular releases for movie lovers of all ages, such as Kung Fu Panda 3, Trolls, Ice Age: Collision Course, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.

Guests can enjoy concessions like popcorn, soft drinks, and select candy for just $2.50 each and, in exchange for a $2.00 donation, theatres will also be selling a fun variety of ME to WE Cineplex ‘Change Bracelets’ which feature motivational statements to inspire youth to create positive change.

Cineplex theatres will open their doors at 9:00 a.m. ET/PT on Oct. 14, with tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Movies will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT and all locations will return to regular programming in the afternoon.

Films will be shown in English and French, depending upon the market and guests are encouraged to visit Cineplex.com/CommunityDay for a list of participating theatres, show times and available languages.
