Alberta election 2017: Leduc County results

With Rick Smith acclaimed as mayor of Leduc County, residents went to the polls to elect a new council on Monday night.

Incumbent councillors Tanni Doblanko and Glenn Belozer were re-elected. Four new councillors were also elected in Kelly-Lynn Lewis, Kelly Vandenberghe, Larry Wanchuk and Raymond Scobie.

In Leduc County, voters elect a councillor in each of seven divisions to serve a four-year term. Council will appoint one of the councillors to act as mayor for a one-year term at its organizational meeting each year. The 2017 organizational meeting is scheduled for Oct. 24 at 9 a.m.
