Over half a metre of snow falls in Saskatchewan to start October.
Wintry October Kickoff
Snow plastered parts of Saskatchewan to start October with over half a metre falling in Cypress Hills.
While the southwest corner of the province was hit hardest with the white stuff, resulting in travel not being recommended in the area, other regions were drenched in rain.
The biggest bullseye of precipitation was just south of Saskatoon in the Watrous area, where up to 72 millimetres was reported.
Saskatoon saw minimal amounts of rain and also escaped without any light snow, which was possible into Tuesday morning, but did fall in areas just south of the city.

Saskatoon Forecast
Tuesday
Saskatoon slipped back to a cool 2 degrees under mostly cloudy skies Tuesday morning with a breezy northerly wind gusting upwards of 40 to 50 km/h.
We managed to scramble up a few more degrees into mid single digits by noon with the cloud deck about to clear.
Winds eased right back during the afternoon as we got back into some sunshine and rose up to a daytime high in upper single digits.
Wednesday
A few clouds will start the day before we get into increasing sunshine during the afternoon as we climb to an afternoon high a few degrees into double digits.
Winds will start out a bit breezy before easing right back before noon.
Thursday-Friday
An upper ridge will do its best to build in later this week, which should bring us back under mostly sunny skies both Thursday and Friday.
Daytime highs will also get a bump back up into the mid teens, making for a seasonal finish to the first week of October.
Weekend Outlook
A cold front will sweep back out the warm weather this weekend and cause daytime highs to dive back into low double digits with clouds building back in along with strong winds and a chance of showers.
