Alberta election 2017: Hinton results

Marcel Michaels was elected mayor of Hinton in its municipal election on Monday night, according to preliminary results.

Michaels won with 1,321 votes, to Stuart Taylor’s 844 and Benita Smit’s 308.

Hinton voters also elected six councillors, including two incumbents: Albert Ostashek (1,622 votes) and Ryan Maguhn (1,449 votes).

Also joining council are Tyler Waugh (1,522), Dewly Nelson (1,437), Trevor Haas (1,320) and Jo Race (1,293).
