With many new politicians coming in, Turner said regional cooperation is going to be important.

“What’s super important is that we need to take care of the core, and that’s the city of Edmonton. Morinville is an important player, but at the same time if Edmonton isn’t healthy its going to affect everyone else in the region.”

The municipal elections take place Oct. 16 around the province.
