The signature event started the team of 28 through smokey skies of the Central and South Okanagan, through the mountainous terrain of the Boundary Kootenay region, an active fire evacuation zone in the East Kootenay and back home via the Thompson to connect with the families who benefit from their fundraising efforts throughout the year. Funds raised from the event support children who require transportation to medical treatment outside their home community, medical supplies, specialized therapies, learning tools & mobility aids. Each request is reviewed on an individual basis, in order to support items not covered by government programs or extended health care benefits.
