An Oakville, Ont. man is facing two charges after an alleged assault downtown that Toronto police say ended with the accused throwing hot coffee in the face of a parking enforcement officer.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in downtown Toronto after the officer issued a ticket to a parked vehicle near the corner of Portland Street and King Street West.
After the officer drove away, police said 22-year-old Omar Darkhabani got into his vehicle and chased him at a high rate of speed into oncoming traffic before cornering the officer at a traffic light and dousing him with a full cup of coffee.
