A Toronto driver is facing charges after he allegedly sped and swerved his vehicle towards a parking enforcement officer.
The parking officer was issuing tickets in the Cottingham Street and Avenue Road area around 8:30 a.m. Friday, when they had asked a man to move his vehicle.
The man reportedly refused to do so and became verbally aggressive with the officer.
Police said the man had then accelerated his vehicle, sped through a school zone, and swerved in the direction of the parking officer.
Mark Hayman, 47, was charged on the same day with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and driving while under suspension.
Hayman is scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Tuesday afternoon.
