A single-vehicle collision has knocked out power to some homes in Surrey this morning.
RCMP say at about 2 a.m. a car hit a hydro pole near the intersection of 64 Avenue and 184 Street.
There was extensive damage to both the vehicle and the hydro pole. The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old Surrey resident, remained at the scene and was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The power is expected to be out until about noon. The intersection is also closed to traffic at this time.
Surrey RCMP is asking that anyone who may have witnessed the collision, saw the vehicle driving prior to the collision, or stopped at the scene, to call them at 604-599-0502 or to call Crime Stoppers.
