“We’re connecting the fans of Saskatoon with their favorite Canadian country artists, especially if they’re not able to make it to their shows when they’re here,” Elyssa Macri, manager of partnerships with the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), said on Saturday.
The afternoon music festival was jam-packed with 14 artists including Gord Bamford, Chad Brownlee, Tim Hicks, Brett Kissel, Madeline Merlo, Jess Moskaluke and Dallas Smith.

After the shows, fans had the chance to get their picture taken at a photo wall with their favorite country music stars.
Kali Kitzul was attending the event with her best friend Julee Gingera. Kitzul said her favourite thing about country music is the artists’ personalities.
Gingera admits the genre has grown on her.
“I used to hate country music,” Gingera said. “One day I woke up and I was like ‘I love this’ and I’ve been listening to it ever since.”
The CCMA award show takes place Sunday at SaskTel Centre.
