It’s back to school!
The Labour Day long weekend marks the unofficial end to summer.
Kids and parents across the land are celebrating and dreading, the first day of class.
My two kids are in full effect at age 10 and 15, complete with opening-day jitters.
Last night, when I asked them what the best and worst thing about back-to-school was, they both answered the same.
The best part: seeing old friends and making new ones.
The worst: the work.
I think back-to-class is harder on parents. Especially in the pocketbook, with parents on average, shelling out about $650 for the occasion, and that doesn’t include post-secondary.
My wife dreads this time of year because it is more confirmation that our babies are getting older.
Some things never change.
