On Wednesday, Barrett pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact in the 21-year-old’s death and the charge of second-degree murder was withdrawn.
Jessome was last seen alive on May 2, 2012. Her body was discovered by a resident of Marion Bridge, N.S., inside a hockey bag three weeks later.
The 41-year-old will be sentenced on the accessory charge on Oct.31.
Two other people have also pleaded guilty in connection with Jessome’s case.
Morgan James McNeil, 25, was also originally charged with second-degree murder — but plead guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter after a plea bargain was reached last September.

Robert Edwin Matheson pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact.
Barrett is already serving a life sentence after being found guilty last year of the second-degree murder of Brett MacKinnon.
The 19-year-old’s remains were found near a Glace Bay hiking trail in 2008 — two years after she initially went missing.
