The London Health Sciences Centre Board of Directors has confirmed current President and CEO Murray Glendining will retire at the end of next March.
Board chair, Ramona Robinson, issued a statement Wednesday that stated Glendining announced his decision to the board in early April.
“Murray has been instrumental in helping navigate LHSC through a period of uncertainty and change and will continue to move us forward over the coming year,” Robinson wrote.
“His commitment to partnership and support for system change has positioned London Health Sciences Centre to succeed through the continued health system transformation ahead.”
According to the Sunshine List, Glendining earned $571,229 in salary and benefits in 2016, making him the highest-paid public sector employee in the city.
Robinson’s statement added that the board of directors has hired the executive search firm Odgers Berndston to conduct an international search to fill the position.
