Kelowna RCMP recognized two civilians Monday for their help in catching a robbery suspect in Kelowna last summer.

On August 21, 2012, the Royal Bank at Orchard Plaza was robbed.

Jane Hahn and Sean Hansson happened to be nearby and helped police track down the bank robbery suspect within minutes.

RCMP recovered an imitation firearm and stolen cash from the suspect.

The pair was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Superintendent Bill McKinnon at a private ceremony at the Kelowna detachment.

Brian Christie Miranada is charged with robbery, disguise with intent and use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence.
