Thousands of Quebecers are out of power after an intense storm hit Montreal.
The storm, which lasted just a few minutes, brought dark clouds, heavy rain and strong winds up to 100 km/h.
Branches and trees were completely destroyed in several areas, such as Montreal West, Hampstead, NDG and Saint-Henri.
Some business owners told Global News they’re worried their shop signs may fall and cause injuries.
According to Urgences-Santé, at least three people — two in Pointe-Claire and one in Laval — have been taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Environment Canada has not confirmed the presence of a tornado, despite some reports.
As of 4:30 p.m., 63,000 Hydro-Quebec customers were without power on the island of Montreal.
The storm is currently heading east.
Anyone experiencing an outage is asked to call Hydro-Quebec at 1 800 790-2424.
