Halifax police seek help in identifying suspects in connection to purse theft

Halifax police are asking for help in identifying two women in connection to a theft at a clothing store in the Sunnyside Mall and have released surveillance photos in the hopes someone is able to assist in identification.

Police say the theft of a purse from a clothing store at the mall at 1595 Bedford Highway took place just after 4 p.m. on June 24. According to police, they received a report two women had entered the store, proceeded to the back storage room and took an employee’s purse.

When the women exited the store, police say the clerk soon realized her purse was stolen. She then contacted police.

Surveillance video was obtained which showed a woman take the purse and exit the store.

The first woman is described as a white woman with a medium build. At the time of the incident, police say she was wearing a white long sleeve shirt, dark coloured pants and black hair pulled back with a small braid in the front.

The second suspect is described as a white woman. When the incident took place, she was wearing a bandana over her hair, dark shirt and a light-coloured purse over her shoulder.
