CALGARY- Being pulled over for speeding has resulted in much more serious charges for a man, after he was caught with a massive haul of drugs.
Around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Canmore RCMP stopped a speeding pickup truck on Highway 1 near the Banff National Park gates. After a quick conversation, police detained the driver for an investigation.

A RCMP service dog was called in and detected a controlled substance, and a resulting vehicle search uncovered a staggering 49 pounds of marijuana. The drugs have a street value of $225,000.
50-year-old Mark Rowsell of Bala, Ontario has been charged and is set to appear in court next month.
