The Quality Inn was purchased by the Drop-In Centre nearly a year ago, with the intention of moving residents from the downtown shelter into the 117 rooms by June 2012. However, the idea was met with resistance from community members.

The open house gets underway at the former hotel at 7 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m.
