So, I’m looking at the chart showing who would form the Alberta government if this was election day.
Judging by the calls and emails I get and what people tell me at various functions, there is no surprise here.
It would be a United Conservative Party win, with more NDP opposition members in Edmonton than Calgary.

But, anti-NDP Albertans should not be too quick to do a victory dance until they know how much the celebration will cost.
Even before that, the choice of leader will make a difference in the vote. Some people may not even cast ballots if their choice is not successful at the end of October.
After the Halloween apples are counted, they need to use them to bake a pie Albertans will swallow.
Conservatives have already said they will kill the carbon tax, but what happens after that?
As the UCP uses that surprise tax as a political lever, expect the NDP to be sending you more government gifts with a sticker on the wrapping paper saying it came from the carbon tax.
The poll shows a 43 per cent UCP victory, but with 27 per cent undecided, more than a quarter of those asked.
It will be interesting, indeed, to watch the UCP and the NDP woo those sitting on the fence.
