Nova Scotia RCMP, police investigating armed home invasion

Nova Scotia RCMP and Halifax Regional Police are investigating a home invasion involving firearms on Tuesday night.

Police responded to a report in Porters Lake shortly before midnight, with their investigation finding that three males had attempted to enter a residence with firearms when a struggle broke out with two people in the home.

One of the residents in the home seized a firearm from a suspect with several shots eventually being fired.

The three suspects fled the scene, though police later located a 25-year-old man who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The 25-year-old is currently in police custody at an undisclosed hospital.

A K-9 unit as well as the Emergency Response Team searched for the other two suspects but couldn’t locate them.

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
