Police are looking for a man accused of attacking a peace officer with a knife at an Edmonton hospital.

Police said on June 22, a man threatened a peace officer with a knife after he was escorted out of a hospital emergency room by security.

The suspect attempted to stab the peace officer in the neck, but the officer was able to get out of the way of the knife, police said.

According to police, the suspect then made slashing and stabbing motions towards the officer before fleeing from the hospital towards downtown.

The man is said to be between 30 and 35 years old, with a reddish/sunburned complexion, blond hair and a cut on the left side of his forehead. In photos released by Edmonton police blood can be seen streaming down the left side of the man’s face.
