RCMP in central Alberta are searching for a group of thieves they say stole five vehicles from a local car rental company in the early hours of Monday, July 3.

Red Deer RCMP said around 12:30 a.m., the suspects broke into the return key box by prying it out of the cement.

Police said the suspects first stole three vehicles: a Ford Fusion car, a cargo truck and a cargo van.

RCMP said three men then returned to the location at 1:45 a.m. and stole the remaining two vehicles in the lot: a Dodge Ram truck and a Jeep Compass SUV.
