Three pilots, including one from Kelowna, are going the extra mile to raise funds for Hope Air — a charity that provides free flights to people who require medical care far from home.
Kelowna Flying Club President Dave McElroy will be joined by two other pilots from Windsor, Ontario.

All three will be taking-off from their respective airports and will meet-up in San Diego where they will fly in formation and circumnavigate Central and South America — a distance of 20,000 miles.
Their journey will take 60 days across 20 countries.
The expedition begins January 2 and can be tracked live on the Give Hope Wings web site.
The pilots hope to raise $500,000.
