Nova Scotia has the third most affordable housing market, according to the Canadian Real Estate Market, but if you’re looking to shovel out the money, the Atlantic province has its own fair share of expensive homes to choose from.
The homes are found across the province, but the list put together by Point2Homes.com found six are found right in the provincial capitol.

These are the top 10 most expensive homes in Nova Scotia, according to Point2Homes.com.
1.) 6400 Oakland Rd., Halifax, $10 million
Sitting right on the Northwest Arm in Halifax, this five-bedroom, 10-bathroom home is the most expensive home currently on the market in the province. The 11,800-sq.-ft. home features a reflecting pool, fully-equipped fitness centre with an indoor pool, a games lounge and an executive office. Or if you’re interested in just lounging for the day, the home also has a home theatre with 10-foot screen and popcorn bar. There’s also plenty of room for guests with a two bed guest house and two bed pool house. And if you have a boat, there’s 237 ft. of docking space.
2.) 22 Fredas Point Rd., Chester, $9.9 million
If you’re looking for a home outside of a city centre with ocean views, this seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom home may be the one for you. With 11,956 sq.-ft., you can work out in the fitness centre, relax in the hot tub, play games in the 300-plus sq.-ft. lounge or enjoy some food in the gourmet kitchen. The 3.25-acre property is found at the end of the Chester Peninsula, surrounded by the Atlantic, Aspotogan Peninsula and the Mahone Bay islands. Those with a boat or car will also find more than enough space with a 130-f.t wharf and two double garages.
3.) Kaulbach Island, Indian Point, $7 million
An 11-bed, nine-bathroom estate that might just be perfect for a growing family. Found on Kaulbach Island, the 57-acre estate features a library, office, gourmet kitchen, several decks and formal and informal entertaining areas. There’s also plenty of places for friends to stay too with a 1,400-sq.-ft. farmhouse, 600-sq.-ft. beach cottage and guest suites above the double garage. And if you want to get out on the water, there’s a wharf and boathouse, which includes a motorboat as part of the price.
4.) 382 Purcells Cove Rd., Halifax, $5.25 million
With a seven-seat in-home theatre, game room, library and wine cellar with tasting room, you’re bound to have friends visiting daily with this 12,000-sq. ft. home. Built only four years ago and located on the Northwest Arm, the home features a two-story great room with orchestra balcony and 248-sq.-ft. fitness centre. The home also is found next to the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron.

5.) 1430 Birchdale Ave., Halifax, $3.99 million
Another home on the Northwest Arm in Halifax, the three-bed, four bathroom property is just across the water from Sir Sanford Fleming Park. If you’re looking for a home that embraces the outdoors, this is the one for you with a floating dock, boathouse, sunny waterfront deck, and an in-ground pool all on site. Inside, the home also features multiple fireplaces, a fitness and family lounge and a pet grooming room for your furry friends.
6.) 346 Smith Rd. Lunenburg County, $3.9 million
If you’re looking to live in a peaceful home away from the noise of the city, this is the home for you. The home features four bedrooms and two bathrooms, a study, sun room and screened-in porch. Situated on 270 acres of marshlands, forests and hills with more than 6 kms of ocean frontage, the renovated farmhouse also comes with a waterfront deck, boathouse, log cabin, wharf and even a beach volleyball court.

And for those looking to enjoy their master suite, the bedroom and bathroom “flow openly” in one space. The bedroom also leads out to a 1,200-sq.-ft. wrap-around deck.
8.) PH 1479 Lower Water St., Halifax, $3.5 million
Found right on the Halifax Harbour, this penthouse at Bishop’s Landing was created by merging four units, producing a home with more than 1,000 sq. -ft. of outdoor space across three terraces and three balconies. The home also features a chef’s kitchen with walk-in pantry, a 400-sq.-ft. games/media lounge and a gym. And if you’re hoping for a place to store your clothes, the 156-sq.-ft. walk-in closet might be just what you’re looking for.
