Teacher with first-hand tornado experience brings class to SkyTracker weather school

The Grade 4 and 5 class from Elrose Composite School came to the city for SkyTracker Weather School at Global Saskatoon on Tuesday.

Meteorologist Peter Quinlan first met teacher Hayley Willner last summer after a tornado destroyed her family farm south of Saskatoon in July 2016.

Her family hid in the basement as the tornado swept through their yard.

She now has firsthand experience to share with her students as they work through their weather unit.
