WINNIPEG– Severe weather is possible Tuesday evening in parts of southern Manitoba.
A low pressure system moving in from the south could induce heavy downpours, bring large hail, and produce strong wind gusts.
While thunderstorm activity looks likely Tuesday afternoon, the storm will likely intensify towards the evening. General rainfall totals across southern Manitoba would be approximately 10-25mm but 40-50mm is possible with thunderstorm activity.
Should severe weather hit, heavy downpours seem most likely around the southwestern portion of the province. Strong winds, potentially over 100 km/h and large hail could be a factor as well.
This storm system will not be clearing the province very quickly and according to Environment Canada, Wednesday could again bring some severe weather with the chance of funnel cloud activity.
