Saint John has landed up to 100 jobs in the growing digital economy through Chicago-based company Cardinal Path, which gathers and analyzes online data of interactions between people and organizations.

The company was introduced at a news conference today.

“We help companies understand what the interactions are between people and them and all measured by the data that they do,” said company Co-CEO Alex Langshur.

“Our staff here are going to be going through, combing all that data to try to help our companies make better marketing decisions and better economic decisions and gain competitive advantage from that.”

New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant said the ability to continue to attract high tech sector jobs to the province helps grow what he calls the “ecosystem” in New Brunswick.

“We often use that word a lot,” Gallant said. “What it means is that it’s great to have these high tech firms in here and the more that you have, it will help breed more high tech firms wanting to invest in Saint John and New Brunswick.”

Up to 100 skilled, high-paying jobs are expected over five years, most requiring a post secondary degree or diploma. Opportunities NB is providing up to $900,000 in payroll rebates, to be provided when the positions have been filled.

It also gives young people from the area a chance to stay home and pursue their career.

“I was super thrilled to receive the job offer and that its actually something that I can put my degree towards and grow within the company,” said Nicole Merrithew, a Saint John native and Cardinal Path employee.
