The 2017 Nova Scotia election has ended with Stephen McNeil’s Liberals getting elected to their second straight majority.

The Liberals were declared as having a government early in the night, with several more seats than the Progressive Conservatives or NDP. But whether the Grits would govern with a majority or minority was unknown until the early hours of the morning with at least six ridings waiting on a few polling boxes to be counted.

In the end the Liberals were elected in 27 ridings, the PCs took home 17 seats — forming the official Opposition — and the NDP took seven.
