A group of Hamilton city councillors, both for and against the proposed LRT project, are combining their resources to fund a poll on the project.
It’s to gauge civic reaction to the plan before a public meeting that’s scheduled for next week.
One councillor who is not participating is Ward 2’s Jason Farr.

He says he’d rather see better information put out about the LRT than a poll of a fraction of the community.
He says a poll of 2,000 out of Hamilton’s half million residents amounts to a survey of .004 per cent of the population.
Farr says some Hamiltonians don’t realize that if the $1 billion that the provincial government has committed to the project isn’t spent on the LRT, it will go to another community.
