It’s not the way one Tennessee man planned to propose to his girlfriend, but he wasn’t going to let a car crash, or his injuries, stop him from asking the love of his life to marry him.
Jamacio Kimble, 20, had the entire night planned out: he was going to ask his girlfriend, Kayla King, to marry him on the eve of their first anniversary.
“The original plan was that night at church we were going to have our youth and college career class get together and have roses and music playing and the lights off, and I was going to have a heart in the middle of the room and I was going to be there,” Kimble told NBC affiliate, WBIR news.
However, on the way to pick up flowers after his baseball practice, Kimble got into a car crash.

“There’s two curves right there before you hit the straight away. I was getting ready to turn and I felt my back wheel just sliding,” Kimble told WBIR. “I over-corrected and by that time, I was going down an embankment and I was staring eyeball-to-eyeball with a barbed wire fence.”

It’s reported the roads were slick from a storm.
Kimble’s red vehicle was left in a complete mangle: flipped upside down, a utility pole through the window and the hood of the car smashed.
“I could’ve died on my way to ask the girl of my dreams to marry me,” Kimble said.
So, with the help of family and friends, a visibly shaken Kimble got down on one knee in the emergency room.
“I was like, ‘I could have died not asking that, so while I have breath, I’m going to ask that.'”
King said yes.
“I could do nothing but break down in tears,” King said to WBIR. “We’ll never forget this.”
Kimble suffered minor cuts and bruises.
According to ABC, the newly engaged couple is planning to marry in spring 2018.
