4 people arrested after shots fired at Vancouver Police officers

Vancouver Police say two men and two women have been arrested after shots were fired at officers early this morning.

Police were called at 1:30 a.m. after witnesses saw at least two men with firearms entering a house near Sophia Street and East 51 Avenue.

When officers arrived and attempted to make contact with the people inside, a man came out and allegedly fired a number of shots before going back inside.

No one was injured.

Members of the VPD’s Emergency Response Team and negotiators were able to safely arrest two men and two women — including a 23-year-old Vancouver man, 21-year-old Surrey man, 18-year-old Vancouver woman and 17-year-old Vancouver woman — just before 4:30 a.m.

All four remain in the custody.

Charges related to firearm offences are anticipated.
