Londoners are about to learn what a difference a day makes.

After heavy rainfall Tuesday night, Londoners are being urged to prepare for a quick return to seasonal temperatures.

According to Environment Canada, more rainfall is expected Wednesday afternoon before the temperature starts to fall from 14 C  down to -2 C over the span of eight hours.

“We’ve certainly had some warm conditions lately, melted off most of the snow,” city of London division manager of transportation operations John Parsons told AM980.

“Now we’re starting to get down into some freezing conditions so we just have to make sure motorists and pedestrians give themselves more time to get around and be careful on those surfaces as they could freeze up.”

Parsons adds that crews are keeping a close watch on the conditions.

“We will be ready to treat conditions as we have staff on 24/7. We’re hoping that motorists and pedestrians be prepared or reacquaint themselves with these conditions.”

Environment Canada is forecasting highs of just -2 C, -3 C, and 1 C for Thursday through Saturday before the temperature climbs back up a high of 8 C on Sunday.
