A man is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 16 near Waseca, Sask.

Maidstone RCMP officers said the crash between a semi and a pickup truck happened at around 11 p.m CT on Sunday.

The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old Waseca man, was killed in the crash. His name has not been released.

There were no passengers in the truck.

The driver of the semi was injured in the crash and taken to hospital for treatment. The semi driver has since been released.

The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while a RCMP collision analyst carried out an investigation.

The coroner’s office is assisting RCMP.

Waseca is approximately 40 kilometres east of Lloydminster.
