ONSLOW, N.S. – A home outside of Truro has been extensively damaged by fire.
Police say a man living in an Onslow Mountain residence was in bed around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when he woke up to the smell of smoke.

The man barely got out of the house, making it to a neighbour’s home before collapsing in the driveway.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics, but, it’s unknown if the man went to hospital for further treatment.
The home’s basement is badly burned and there is extensive smoke and water damage throughout.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, but fire officials say it didn’t look suspicious.
