CALGARY – A young man charged with impaired driving causing death in a crash near Cochrane earlier this month, has had his case adjourned until January.
According to RCMP, a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck was driving southbound in the northbound lane of Highway 22 when it sideswiped two oncoming vehicles in the northbound lane.
The Chevy pickup then collided head-on with a northbound Subaru Impreza, trapping the driver inside the vehicle.
17-year-old Brandon Thomas, the driver of the Subaru, died at the scene of the crash.
The Driver of the Chevy pickup, 22-year-old Ryan Jordan Gibson, was arrested by RCMP at the scene.
He’s charged with six offences, including impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
Gibson’s case has been adjourned until January 24th to give his lawyers more time to get all the evidence.
