Calgary Comic Expo gets Weird

CALGARY- The 2013 edition of the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo is getting weird.

Weird Al Yankovic is the latest celeb to sign on for the show, happening in April at the BMO Centre. He is the best selling comedy recording artist of all time, and will also bring his Alpocalypse Tour to town.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The expo has already secured Stan Lee, who created comics like Spiderman, X-Men and Iron Man, along with Chris Sarandon who is best known for his role as ‘Prince Humperdinck’ in The Princess Bride.

The show continues to play off the major success of the 2012 edition, which saw the first reunion in two decades of the case of Star Trek: The Next Generation. However, the expo was also plagued by record-breaking attendance issues, and many fans holding tickets were turned away at the doors when the venue hit capacity.
