Saskatchewan Rush going ‘ugly’ for the Saskatoon Food Bank

It could be a little “ugly” when two-time defending National Lacrosse League champions Saskatchewan Rush host the Calgary Roughnecks.

The Rush will be wearing ugly Christmas sweater jerseys for Friday night’s showdown at SaskTel Centre.

It’s in support of the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre.

“It’s important to give back to a community that’s in need and it’s such a giving time of year, with Christmas just around the corner, so I encourage everyone to get out to the game and bring a can of soup or pasta sauce and give back to the community,” Rush defenseman Nik Bilic said.

Fans will be able to bid on the jerseys on the team’s Facebook page.

Ugly Christmas sweater replica jerseys and t-shirts will also be available, with ten dollars from each sale going to the food bank.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
