Three of the four people charged after the Saskatchewan Compassion Club in Saskatoon was shut down are going to trial.
Jaime Hagel, Lane Britnell and Mark Hauk, who was the owner of the medicinal marijuana facility, have had their cases moved to Saskatoon’s Court of Queen’s Bench.

A trial date has not been set yet.
The trio were charged with trafficking marijuana and cannabis resin and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
A month before the arrests, Hauk said he knew opening a storefront for medical marijuana was illegal, but he felt it was the only option that made sense because otherwise patients have to order it online and wait for their prescription.

Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government plan to allow the use of recreational marijuana in 2017, but a Saskatoon police inspector said officers had to act under the current law.
