Regina adding more credit card-capable parking meters

In the next few days, Regina will be adding new parking meters, which can accept credit cards, in the downtown area.

The city will be adding 19 new credit-card-capable metered stalls along Broad Street between Victoria Avenue and 13th Avenue.

The new meters are there to help encourage traffic turnover and make it more convenient for people to visit downtown.

The parking spots will not be available during bus lane hours (7 to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 5:50 p.m.). During the peak times, No-Stopping Zones will be in effect and meters will be programmed to display a message when parking is not permitted and will refuse payment.

Installation of the new meters will take place on Sunday, Dec. 18 and work should be done in one day.

The first credit-card capable meters in Regina were installed in May 2015.
