The other half of the van was resting on the front lawn, according to Stéphane Goyette, spokesperson for Châteauguay police.
The occupants of the vehicle, three young men, fled the scene on foot before the arrival of police.
Officers located the trio nearby.
Two of the men were taken to hospital to be treated for undisclosed injuries, while the third man walked home, police said.
Goyette said speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash.
