The Humane Society has
mixed feelings about the ruling.

“Considering the
amount of damage that was done to this dog – both physically and emotionally, we
were hoping for a stronger sentence,” says Diana Bishop, supervisor of animal
protection officers.

Kindle has now been
adopted by new owners and is on the road to rehabilitation.
