Another Blast of Winter hits Regina

Slow down and take your time, that’s the message from drivers out on the roads today.  

Freezing rain Wednesday afternoon followed by snow overnight has made for treacherous road conditions.  

RCMP reported about 25 weather-related crashes in southern Saskatchewan last night alone because of the weather conditions and the Regina police said they had 28 reportable collisions in the last 24 hours.

City of Regina’s Chris Warren says the city currently has 20 graters and 10 ice control units out on the city streets working on Category 1 and 2 streets. 

Driving on the highways in our province Thursday is not recommended with a few serious collisions already occurring; if you do plan to travel you should check the highway hotline.

By the end of Thursday afternoon, Regina could see another 5 centimeters of snow fall in the city.
