Montreal Police are “investigating” after a vehicle exploded Wednesday in Montreal’s east end.
But not to worry, the investigation is all part of a training exercise.
While a vehicle was blown up, it was done so in a controlled manner and in a secure environment.

The goal of the exercise was to test the various players involved in a post-explosion investigation, from the arson squad to forensic experts.

The drill also helps to illustrate how complex a post-explosion crime scene can be.
The simulation was organized by the police in collaboration with Defense Research and Development Canada.
